Despite tying a franchise record by hitting into five double plays, the Dodgers rallied with four runs in the eighth inning on Tuesday to beat the D-backs, 5-4.

The Dodgers, who maintain their 3 1/2 game lead over the Rockies in the National League West, trailed, 4-1, going into the eighth. They scored one run off Blaine Boyer on singles by Russell Martin, Rafael Furcal and Matt Kemp. Andre Ethier greeted Daniel Schlereth with an RBI single to cut the deficit to 4-3. Manny Ramirez walked to load the bases and James Loney tied the score with an RBI single. Ronnie Belliard brought home the tiebreaking run with an infield single when reliever Esmerling Vasquez slipped and fell.

Arizona starter Billy Buckner, who came into the game with a 2-6 record and 8.29 ERA, had an RBI single, RBI double and was in position to win after seven strong innings five days after losing to the Dodgers, 4-2.

Ethier picked up RBI No. 93 with his 39th double of the season, driving in Furcal for a first-inning run. Arizona quickly answered in the bottom of the inning against Chad Billingsley as the first two batters -- Stephen Drew and Gerardo Parra -- reached base and scored on sacrifice flies by Justin Upton and Mark Reynolds.

Arizona needed a couple breaks to score in the second inning. Kemp broke slowly, then missed Brandon Allen's bloop double with a diving catch. Allen took third on Augie Ojeda's groundout and scored when Belliard fielded Buckner's tapper only for Loney to miss his throw. Dodgers manager Joe Torre argued -- and replays verified -- that Buckner was out of the running lane and interfered with Loney's catch, but umpires Brian Knight and Hunter Wendelstedt disagreed and the run scored.
