The Dodgers are considering adding veteran Garret Anderson as their fourth outfielder, according to a Los Angeles Times report citing multiple anonymous sources.

Anderson, 37, batted .268 with 13 home runs and 61 RBIs last season and earned $2.5 million in his first season with the Braves. He spent his first 15 years in Southern California with the Angels, where he was a three-time All-Star and key member of the club's 2002 World Series championship team.

Anderson also set the Angels' all-time franchise marks in several categories, including hits (2,368), RBIs(1,292) and games played (2,013).

If negotiations between the Dodgers and Anderson's agent, Scott Boras, prove fruitful, he will fill the spot left vacated when Juan Pierre was traded to the White Sox in December.

ESPN.com, citing a "source close to the organization," is reporting that the Dodgers are also considering fellow veterans Brian Giles, Gabe Gross and Reed Johnson, along with Anderson, for the fourth-outfielder role.

Jason Repko and Xavier Paul are currently the Dodgers' top backup outfielders.
